“They would hold study sessions outside of class. In my pre-calc class last year my teacher would let us come in during lunch to get help.”
“As for teaching and encouraging me in science, I only recall one of my teachers in junior high that wanted to help her students. She would set up office hours after school for students that did not understand Biology. I think that is why I enjoyed that class a little more than the other courses because the teacher reached out to her students.”
“In math the teacher I liked would sit down and help me learn by visualizing (picturing) and construction of material on a one-on-one basis as well helping in class.”
“Regardless of how long I took to get the problem, they would sit down and work with me.”
"Teachers are really helpful and willing to answer questions in class. They seem to be invested in you knowing the material and really understanding it rather than just memorizing the answers."
