Working on the complex challenges of narrowing the gender gap in STEM requires a broad array of strategies and resources. Informal education programs vary in structure and process from classroom instruction and often require specific training and materials to create an effective intervention. Similar challenges exist in developing initiatives to engage higher education faculty from science and engineering disciplines in programs and activities that encourage girls and women to choose STEM careers.
