O*Net Tools -
O*Net has developed measures of career interest, importance (values), and ability, and placed them in the public domain. The interest and importance measures are available in either desk-top-computer or paper-and-pencil formats. Brief descriptions are as follows:

Results from these instruments can be used to explore relevant occupations, schools, and academic programs in the VCC's Automated Advisor. On-line versions of the Interest Profiler and the Importance Profiler are available in the VCC. The O*Net Ability Profiler can not be converted to an on-line format. All three exploration tools may be downloaded from O*Net for use by students and workers engaged in career planning.
