Education and Career Action Plan (ECAP)
The VCC’s Education and Career Action Plan (ECAP) permits you to gather and store information about your goals in four areas: Academic, Career, Post Secondary Education, and Extra-Curricular Activity. You also have the option of sharing this information with your school counselor or advisor and your parents or guardians. If you create an ECAP account, the user ID and Password you select will serve in the Automated Advisor and on any of the career exploration tests you take.
The Arizona State School Board recently made completing an ECAP a graduation requirement. Thus, the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) and Arizona State University (ASU) are collaborating on the development of an on-line ECAP to meet this need. A prototype now exists; new features will be continuously added over the next year.
If you are a high school student in Arizona, this ECAP program may be especially useful to you, not only in fulfilling graduation requirements, but also in helping you formulate a life plan. Other states are increasingly recommending that students complete an education and career action plan, so even if you are not an Arizona student, this program may be beneficial to you.
