Word Processors and Typists
Use word processor/computer or typewriter to type letters, reports, forms, or other material from rough draft, corrected copy, or voice recording. May perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Significant Points - Employers generally hire high school graduates who meet company requirements for keyboarding speed; for many people, a job as a data entry and information processing worker is their first job after graduating from high school.
- Although overall employment is projected to decline, the need to replace workers who leave this large occupation each year should produce many job openings.
- Job prospects should be best for those with expertise in appropriate computer software applications.
