High-Stakes Testing is a controversial topic among professional educators and politicians. Nevertheless it has become a reality for students in many states. Arizona's Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) covers a number of academic subject areas across the K-12 school years. Practice tests and preparatory materials are available on two different websites. The IDEAL site is a joint venture between Arizona State University and the Arizona Department of Education; both on-line and paper-and-pencil versions of AIMS tests are available there.
